Nachdem seit gestern das Service Pack 1 für Exchange Server 2007 zum Download verfügbar ist, an dieser Stelle ein wichtiger Hinweis für den Betrieb von Exchange mit Forefront Security for Exchange (FSE):

Nachdem das FSE RTM (Version 10.0) von Exchange 2007 SP1 als nicht unterstütze Version erkannt wird, muss zuerst das Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 1 (Version 10.1) installiert werden, bevor die Exchange 2007-Installation auf SP1 aktualisiert werden kann. (Folglich ist FSE SP1 auf Exchange 2007 RTM ohne dessen SP1 funktionsfähig. )

Ein neues Management Pack für FSE SP1 und MOM 2007 bzw. OpsMgr 2007 steht derzeit noch aus, sollte aber in Kürze im System Center Pack Catalog verfügbar sein.

Wie zu erwarten dürfen in diesem Wiki natürlich auch eigene interessante und nützliche Informationen und Tips zu IAG eingetragen, sowie Fragen rund um das Gateway gestellt und beantwortet werden.

Microsoft bietet technische Unterstützung zu Forefront (einschlisslich ISA und IAG) auch in Online News Groups als "Exclusive Partner Community Newsgroups" an.

In einem Review unter dem Titel Microsoft lands a winning SSL VPN in Whale im Online-Magazin InfoWorld bekam das Intelligent Application Gateway 2007 (IAG) ein Excellent-Rating mit einer Note von 8,7 von maximal 10.

Zwei Highlights aus dem Artikel:

• “When it comes to end point policies, the sky is the limit with IAG. The software comes with an extensive list of predefined policies, and admins can edit existing ones or create their own policies as necessary… IAG's end point control engine is one of the most capable I've reviewed.”
• “Microsoft made a good move in acquiring the Whale technology and merging it with ISA Server. The total package makes for one flexible yet secure solution for remote access to the enterprise. The end point control is one of the best going, but full functionality is limited to Windows and Internet Explorer clients.
